Puja was the second Caliph of the al-Rahbi line. He ruled during a Golden Age after the reconstruction of the Jewel and is well beloved by all of its citizens. He was the last of his line to have been born outside the Palace walls as well, and his retirement has brought a return to the normal distance between the Palace and Medinaat al-Salaam. Puja largely continued the policies of his mother in practice and in his final years did his best to keep the city together as the Civil Wars tore through the City of Peace.

Since stepping down, he still maintains a large amount of power in the Palace and the city at large. He was as respected as his mother as Caliph, and many advisors and councilors still defer to the old Caliph while his son is still getting comfortable in his chair. Puja usually has the foresight to move most of these onto his son, but can't help but let old habits push him to finish work that he thinks is beneath the Caliph's notice.

Mostly though, Puja wants to enjoy his retirement years. He figures that in a year or two his son will be stable enough and will have calmed down enough that he will be able to rule as Caliph just fine. He has a good, if excitable, head on his shoulders, and his trips into the city have given him an outlet for his energy. Eventually he will calm down as Puja himself did. He hopes.
